Lodging house drug op nets 3 suspects, 10 ‘shabu’ sachets

ROXAS City – An antidrug operation led to the arrest of three people in a lodging house in Barangay Tiza.

Vicente Reyes, 34, Ismael Avelino, 34, and Lilia Tabangaay, 27 – all residents of this city – were detained.

Ten sachets of suspected shabu, a cellphone, drug paraphernalia, and a P500 marked money were seized from the suspects during the buy-bust operation at around 11 p.m. on June 5.

Officers from the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) of the Roxas City police station staged the operation.

“The CDEU caught Tabanggay using illegal drugs during the operation,” Superintendent Dante Tayco, city police chief, told Panay News.

Charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 have been filed against the suspects at the City Prosecutor’s Office on Thursday.

Reyes, Avelino and Tabangaay were hauled to the custodial facility of the Roxas City police station./PN
