‘LP supporters behind Bikoy online videos’

The Department of Justice slaps inciting to sedition raps against Rodel Jayme, the administrator of a website accused of sharing “Bikoy” videos. ABS-CBN NEWS

MANILA – Rodel Jayme said two supporters of opposition-aligned Liberal Party (LP) approached him to create a website later used for posting “Bikoy” videos accusing President Rodrigo Duterte, his family and friends of illegal drug trade.

Jayme said LP supporters identified as “Maru Nguyen” and “Maru Xie” tasked him to create a website to highlight the previous administration’s achievements.

Jayme, who was charged with inciting to sedition in relation to Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012, said he was surprised to see videos of “Bikoy” entitled “Ang Totoong Narcolist” posted in the website.

“Bikoy” claimed in his videos that presidential son and former Davao City vice mayor Paolo Duterte, son-in-law Manases Carpio and former aide Christopher “Bong” Go funneled drug money into their bank accounts.

Jayme apologized to Duterte, his teenage daughter Veronica and members of his family.

NBI spokesman Ferdinand Lavin said they already knew Marie Xie’s true identity and they will continue to pursue personalities involved in “Bikoy” videos. /PN
