LPG prices down for second straight month

HOUSEHOLDS will pay less for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) this May as firms implemented their second straight month of rollbacks for the cooking fuel.

Petron Corp. cut LPG prices by P1.15 per kilogram, or P12.65 for every 11-kilogram cylinder tank, effective 12:01 a.m. yesterday.

“This reflects the international contract price of LPG for the month of May,” the advisory read.

Solane-branded LPG price, meanwhile, decreased by P1.09 per kilogram.

Latest data available from the Department of Energy (DOE) show that prices of an 11-kilogram cylinder in Metro Manila ranged from P830 to P1,068 for the month of April.

Earlier last month, Petron also announced a P1-rollback per kilo of LPG following a price hike imposed last March. (GMA Integrated News)
