BACOLOD City – The transport of returning residents to Cadiz City, Binalbagan and Manapla towns in Negros Occidental is temporarily suspended.
In Resolution No. 56, the Regional Inter-Agency Task Force (RIATF) approved the request of these three local government units for a moratorium on the arrival of locally stranded individuals (LSIs).
The resolution, signed by RIATF head secretariat Christian Nagaynay, approved the request of Cadiz City for a five-day moratorium beginning yesterday.
The town of Manapla will have a 14-day suspension of LSI arrivals beginning Nov. 5.
Binalbagan town, meanwhile, also started its moratorium yesterday until Nov. 16.
The moratorium will allow the LGUs to decongest and expand existing quarantine and isolation facilities for confirmed and suspected coronavirus disease 2019 cases, the RIATF said.
To recall, the request for a moratorium of arriving LSIs in the cities of Bago, San Carlos, and Victorias were also approved.
As of Nov. 1, Negros Occidental had a total of 4,692 confirmed cases, 1,574 of which were tagged as active cases.
The province also had a total of 3,039 recoveries and 79 deaths./PN
