ILOILO City – After 30 years in government service, the spokesman and legal officer of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) Region 6 has retired.

Jose Marie Lamparero is doing private practice as a lawyer and mechanical engineer.

Lamparero, whose retirement was effective March 16, told Panay News he has planned for this.

Paglab-otko30 years sa government service, ma-shift ako sa private practice, sa abogasya, by way of my early retirement, and also to practice my license as mechanical engineer,” said the 52-year-old.

Lamparero first entered government service in 1986 at the Bureau of Telecommunication under the Department of Transportation and Communications where he served for 21 years.

After taking his oath as a lawyer in 2007, Lamparero joined the Jagna-an Belloga Agot law office in Jaro district.

He worked as a Western Visayas legal officer for the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples for six years while still connected with the firm until 2013. In October that year, he entered the LTFRB.

Lamparero is rejoining the firm in April. He is also open to consultancy work and teaching Engineering and Marine subjects.

For 10 years, he taught Engineering and Marine subjects part-time at the Western Institute of Technology in La Paz district where he finished his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering in 1985.
