LTFRB slammed for ‘unreasonable’ franchise rules

BACOLOD City – The Transport Network Vehicle Services (TNVS), a ride-sharing community based in this city, sought help from the national government to address the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board 6’s (LTFRB-6) “unreasonable policies” in granting or denying franchise applications.

Vincent Errol Dreyfus led the Bacolod TNVS drivers, peers and operators in reiterating their call to President Rodrigo Duterte through Secretary Arthur Tugade of the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and Mark De Guzman of Road Transport Infrastructure.

“We have been waiting for LTFRB’s approval for so long,” he said.

Currently, a total of 44 TNVS drivers and peers in this city have yet to secure franchises or renew their Certificates of Public Conveyance.

Dreyfuss and other TNVS drivers and peers joined the TNVS chapters in Metro Manila, Cebu, Pampanga and various TNVS alliances who conveyed their sentiments over the apparent inaction of LTFRB-6 on their application.

“It is high time that we voice out our plight and worries against LTFRB to the President,” he stressed.

He added, “we are also requesting LTFRB to grant us a cap of 500 slots for the Bacolod TNVS community.”

The local commuters here patronize TNVS as the safest, affordable and newer mode of transportation./PN
