ILOILO City – The Land Transportation Office (LTO) Region 6 has proposed the creation of a composite team against on-road parking.
“The team shall be composed of personnel from the LTO and the Transportation Management and Traffic Regulation Office (TMTRO),” LTO counsel Gaudioso P. Geduspan II told Panay News in a phone interview.
It shall comprise seven members: two from the LTO and five from the TMTRO. The LTO shall train them. Geduspan said they are expected to fully operate by Dec. 1.
Geduspan acknowledged the proposal to deploy barangay captains to carry out policies against road obstruction and illegal parking. The lawyer said the team will welcome volunteer village chiefs.
“We also asked the city government to list down the barangays where on-road parking is prevalent,” said Geduspan.
On-road parking is prohibited on several streets at the following districts from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day:
