ILOILO – The construction of the P4.95-million satellite office of the Land Transportation Office (LTO) Region 6 is ongoing in San Miguel town.
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) – Iloilo 4th District Engineering Office is spearheading the construction of the 216-square meter one-storey building.
The office, when operational, would especially benefit the people of the province’s 2nd District as they could easily access LTO services closer to their homes.
Citing from the report of District Engineer Mario G. Soriano, DPWH Region 6 officer-in-charge Engineer Sanny Boy Oropel said the structure will provide conducive working environment among LTO employees, as well as a convenient avenue of providing quality service to the people.
“This facility will provide the employees with more conducive working environment which will eventually boost their morale and increase their productivity and efficiency as government workers,” said Oropel.
Soriano, for his part, said when completed the new building will cater to the increasing number of stakeholders and clients from San Miguel and neighboring towns, without the need to go to the LTO Region 6 office in Jaro, Iloilo City or other satellite offices.
“The satellite office will lead to faster and more convenient processing of their motor vehicle registration and other LTO-related transactions,” said Soriano.
He added the construction of the LTO-6 satellite office was realized through a strong partnership of DPWH and LTO with the goal of providing quality infrastructure facilities and services that will help improve the people’s lives./PN
