BACOLOD City – Land Transportation Office (LTO) personnel in this city will begin impounding the vehicles of traffic violators as soon as they move to their new office in Barangay Mansilingan.
LTO-Bacolod chief Renato Novero admitted that due to lack of space at their current office on Cottage Road, they are unable to impound the vehicles of traffic violators.
Novero said their new office has a larger impounding area and also has a large parking space for vehicles.
The new LTO-Bacolod office, located in a property owned by the Negros Occidental provincial government, is already 90 percent complete and is expected to be inaugurated this month by Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson.
Novero earlier said they are not yet ready to move to the new facility as they are concerned about the security. The new LTO office is located in a somewhat remote area.
The provincial government spent P33.34 million for the new LTO-Bacolod building.
Provincial administrator, Atty. Rayfrando Diaz, said once the LTO moves to its new facility, the old building will be reconstructed into a multi-use building, possibly the CyberCentre 2./PN
