THE Land Transportation Office (LTO) and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) have recently signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) to formalize a partnership that aims to strengthen driver’s education in the country.
Specifically, the MOA will enable TESDA to offer free theoretical and practical driving courses as well as issue certificates that are equivalent to those offered by the LTO. The MOA will also set consistency and uniformity in the courses to ensure quality training for drivers. Overall, the LTO says that this will help the agency in addressing the public’s demand for quality and more affordable driving courses.
“We have partnered with TESDA because we want to tap their expertise to ensure the quality of driver’s training being given by driving schools, the LTO and TESDA,” said LTO assistant secretary Edgar Galvante.
And, we have regional offices who can reach out to those in need of the training. Libre po ito,” he added.(Top Gear PH)
