ILOILO City – Colonel Paul Kenneth Lucas, Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) director, warned mayors and businessmen not to fall prey to individuals using his name to solicit money for cellphone load.

Alert the police immediately, Lucas appealed to them on Thursday.

In a phone call to a town mayor in northern Iloilo, a man introduced himself as Lucas and asked for a P5,000 cellphone load.
“One mayor told me this. I said he was scammed,” said Lucas.

He condemned the illegal activity and ordered the IPPO to conduct an investigation.

“We are working to trap the scammer who used the same racket against my predecessors,” Lucas said.

He also requested San Enrique’s Mayor Trixie Fernandez, chairperson of the League of Municipalities – Iloilo chapter, to issue an advisory about this modus of swindlers.

Lucas also reminded the mayors of his two mobile phone numbers he gave them.

“Please call me to verify any representation using my name,” the province’s top cop said./PN
