BACOLOD City – She was only eating dinner with her children when she got shot.
The 55-year-old Jovelina Calafardo of Barangay Camindangan, Sipalay City, Negros Occidental died, a police report showed.
The shooting happened around 8:45 p.m. on Jan. 12 at Calafardo’s residence in Purok Tuboran, the report added.
Calafardo sustained multiple gunshot wounds on the chest. She was rushed to the Rural Health Unit in the village but the attending physician pronounced her “dead on arrival.”
Officers from the Sipalay City police station were still identifying the suspect who used a 12-gauge shotgun in killing Calafrado.
They have yet to establish the motive in the incident as of this writing./PN
