BACOLOD City – A woman and her 10-year-old son who recently arrived from Metro Manila were among the 12 residents of this province to test positive for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), a report from the provincial government said.
The boy, listed as Patient No. 33, is the youngest of the total 40 patients in this province.
He and his 31-year-old mother, who is Patient No. 37, are both asymptomatic. They are now isolated in a patient care center in their home town of Moises Padilla.
The mother and son were among the nine new cases recorded in Negros Occidental on June 20.
Of the nine, four were locally stranded individuals (LSIs) from Cebu. Patient No. 29 is a 22-year-old man from Escalante City; Patient No. 30, a 36-year-old female from Cadiz City; Patient No. 31, a 36-year-old male from San Carlos City; and Patient No. 34 is a 43-year-old male from Silay City.
The three others – all females – were repatriated overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who are quarantined in a hotel facility. They were listed as Patients No. 32, 35 and 36.
On June 21, three other LSIs from Manila were added to the list of COVID-19 cases in this province.
Here’s a brief description of them: Patient No. 38, a 26-year-old woman, and Patient No. 40, a 30-year-old man, who are both residents of E.B. Magalona town; and Patient No. 39, a 32-year-old woman from Himamaylan City.(With a report from PNA/PN)
