ROXAS City – A wanted person was arrested while he was applying for a police clearance at Pontevedra Municipal Police Station (MPS) in Pontevedra, Capiz on Wednesday morning, July 17.
Pontevedra police said, upon checking his records, it was found out that the 55-year-old alias “Jessie,” a resident of Barangay Tuburan, Maayon town, is wanted for arson and frustrated murder charges.
The construction worker, police said, was reportedly a member of the communist terrorist group but surrendered to the Maayon MPS a few months ago.
Police added that the suspect has an arrest warrant issued by Judge Bernardo Rivera Jimenez of the Regional Trial Court Branch 54 in Gubat, Sorsogon dated February 23, 2024.
The suspect is currently detained at the Pontevedra MPS pending turnover to the court of origin.
No bail was recommended for the arson case while the court recommended P200,000 bail bond for frustrated murder case for his temporary liberty./PN
