ILOILO City – Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog advised the public to take precautionary measures when leaving the house for the cemetery tomorrow, like unplugging electrical appliances and wires to avoid fire.
While no fire incident was reported during the All Saints’ Day (Nov. 1) and All Souls’ Day (No. 2) in 2015, the Bureau of Fire Protection is not leaving anything to chance.
“Most fires are caused by candles left on altars or electrical appliances,” said the city fire marshal Superintendent Jerry Candido.
Mabilog also reminded the public to properly observe the All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day.
Everyone visiting their dearly departed should remember that “ang kadto naton, prayers para sa ila,” the mayor said.
Mabilog urged the public to abide by the prohibitions set by the police to avoid inconvenience.
“Madamo bawal, hambal sang aton kapulisan,” he said. “Bawal ang kutsilyo, firearms, sugal, ilimnon, radyo nga tunog, karaoke, kag most of all, illegal drugs.”
All Saints’ Day, a special nonworking day while Wednesday is All Souls’ Day.
“Palihog lang indi gid kamo magdala sang ilegal nga bagay kay i-confiscate inâ,” Mabilog stressed. “Dapat naton obserbaron sang husto ang purpose sang Undas.”/PN
