MANILA – Marion Magat is returning to the NLEX Road Warriors after being shipped by the Blackwater Bossing ahead of the 2021 PBA Governors’ Cup later this month.

Based on the trade deal, which was announced on the Road Warriors’ Facebook page, NLEX reacquired Magat by sending Mike Ayonayon and William McAloney to the Bossing.

The trade deal serves as a homecoming for the 6-foot-4 Magat after being signed up and blossomed under the Road Warriors during the 2018-2019 PBA Season.

Magat was shipped to TNT Tropang Giga in June 2019 as part of a three-team trade that landed Ilonggo Jericho Cruz to the Road Warriors camp.

Magat was once again traded by the Tropang Giga in late 2019 to the Bossing in a three-team trade where TNT got John Paul Erram from sister team Road Warriors.

During the just-concluded 2021 PBA Philippine Cup, Magat submitted averages of 5.50 points, 4.80 rebounds and 0.60 assists as the Bossing’s starting power forward.

On the part of Ayonayon and McAloney, it will be a new beginning under the rebuilding Bossing after being benched in their two years with the NLEX.

Ayonayon, a former San Juan Knights star at MPBL, only played for five games for the Road Warriors in the first conference where he normed 0.40 points, 0.80 rebounds and 0.60 assists.

McAloney, on the other hand, was inserted seven times in the Philippine Cup by Road Warriors head coach Yeng Guiao and have averages of 1.86 points and 1.86 rebounds.

Ayonayon and McAloney were the sixth and seventh players acquired by the Bossing in the offseason aside from Jvee Casio and Barkley Ebona from Alaska Aces, Rashawn McCarthy from Terrafirma Dyip and Valandre Chauca and Juneric Baloria from free agency./PN
