MANILA – Magnolia Pambansang Manok Hotshots remained undefeated in the 2021-2022 PBA Governors’ Cup after a 103-83 domination over Phoenix Super LPG Fuel Masters over the weekend at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Adrian Wong drilled six three-pointers to finish with career-high 18 points as the Hotshots secured a quarterfinals seat as it improved to 6-0 win-loss record.

It was the second consecutive impressive showing by the Wong, who was picked up by Magnolia last month after being released by Rain or Shine Elasto Painters.

“Maswerte kami na nakuha namin si Adrian nang hindi kami gumamit ng trade,” Hotshots head coach Chito Victolero said on the former Ateneo de Manila University Blue Eagles gunner.

Michael Harris tallied double-double 20 points and 13 rebounds, while Paul Lee and Andy Mark Barroca also hit double figures in scoring with 14 and 13 markers, respectively, for the Hotshots.

Matthew Wright finished the match with 18 points, while Ilonggo Billy Ray Robles added career-best 15 markers as the Fuel Masters slumped to 4-3 win-loss record.

Meanwhile, Alaska Aces battled back from 20 points down in the fourth quarter to stun Terrafirma Dyip, 102-97, to clinch its third straight win, five overall in seven matches.

Down 81-61 early in the fourth quarter, the Aces got a huge lift from rookie Allyn Bulanadi, who drilled three outside hits, and inside hits by Abu Tratter and Jeron Teng to trim the deficit to 77-87.

The Aces pulled even closer with conversions from Regile Ilagan and Oluseyi Ashaolu and layups by Teng to cut the deficit to 91-93 before the Dyip increased it to 94-91 with a free throw from Antonio Hester.

Back-to-back layups by Alec Stockton and Teng gave the Aces a 95-94 edge. Two more layups and two free throws by Teng completed Alaska’s come-from-behind win.

Teng finished the match with career-high 30 points, Tratter added 21 points and 10 rebounds, while Ashaolu and Bulanadi chipped in 11 and 10, respectively, for the Aces.
