MANILA – Bacolod Master Sardines suffered a 95-71 defeat at the hands of San Juan Knights in the 2019-2020 Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League at the Olivares College Gymnasium in Paranaque City.
The Bacolodnons have no say to the powerhouse roster of the reigning MPBL champions as they were dominated from start to finish to suffer its third defeat in five matches.
The Knights imposed its presence early on with John Wilson connecting three three-point conversions for an 18-8 edge. Bacolod was able to come to within single digit but triples by Jhonard Clarito extended Knights’ edge to 50-38 at the half.
It was all Knights since then with Wilson continued to hoist outside hits and Clarito, Larry Rodriguez and Mark Cardona converting inside for its largest lead of the match at 24 points.
Wilson finished the match with 22 points, including four triples, Clarito chipped in 16 markers and nine boards as the San Juan City-based team maintained its unblemished slate after four games.
Jopher Custodio top-scored with 16 points to go along with six rebounds, while Mark Tallo, Haddi Porto and William Vasalo added 15, 14 and 13 markers, respectively, for the Bacolod team./PN
