MAJA Salvador was named Best Actress for her performance in the drama series “Wildflower” at the first Asia Contents Awards held on Saturday in Busan, South Korea.
A lone Philippine nominee, the actress bested other actors from nine ASEAN countries to the special award.
In her speech, Maja said that playing Ivy Aguas and Lily Cruz was both a great challenge and pleasure for her as an actress.
The first Asia Contents Awards aims to recognize outstanding TV series in the television industry across Asia.
It is organized by the renowned Busan International Film Festival and Asian Film Market, an annual film market in South Korea.
Even after the series ended, “Wildflower” continues to be a hit worldwide as it airs in New Caledonia, Polynesia and Reunion with the partnership of ABS-CBN and Ampersand fiction, a French content distributor.
Currently, “Wildflower”is being shown in several French-speaking African countries and will soon air in Madagascar this month. (Push)
