MANILA – Players of the Makati Football Club (MFC) resorted to digital workouts while Metro Manila is still under modified enhanced community quarantine.

MFC chief executive officer SeLu Lozano said the online workouts are for the club’s athletes to stay active, to refresh what they have been taught and to learn new concepts.

“As we wait and hope for things to get back to normal, MFC, together with our top coaches who have been dedicating their time, energy and knowledge, have carefully designed an online training course for our athletes,” said Lozano.

Due to the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic,                 Makati FC canceled the trainings since March 13 to ensure the safety of our athletes, parents and staff, he added.
According to Lozano, the program aims to deliver the promise of Makati FC‘s holistic approach in teaching that optimizes the overall growth and development of its youth athletes and boost overall confidence.

The core of what the program teaches covers the football skills through target based, specific online drills and puts emphasis on body strength and conditioning as well as lectures and open discussions with players and coaches.

“The MFC training is awesome and the coaches are super cool,” said Duke Punzalan, one of players, after the online workout.
