MALAY, Aklan – A new acting police chief has been assigned to Malay Municipal Police Station.

Lieutenant Colonel Mar Joseph Ravelo assumed the post of outgoing chief Lieutenant Colonel Dainis Amuguis on Jan. 5.

Amuguis served the Malay police force for five months after he succeeded Lieutenant Colonel Don Dicksie De Dios last July 2023.

Prior to his assignment, Ravelo was designated deputy force commander of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion in Police Regional Office 6.

Ravelo, a native of Balanga, Bataan, is a member of the Philippine National Police Academy Class of 2009.

β€œI accepted the challenge and this opportunity to serve as your new acting police chief. We will make full efforts to secure the island and the mainland with the support of stakeholders,” Ravelo said.

Malay municipal police station has jurisdiction in 17 barangays, including three barangays on Boracay Island, namely, Yapak, Manocmanoc and Balabag.

Ravelo also vowed to lead the men and women of the Malay Municipal Police Station to engage more with community stakeholders, provide the highest quality of police service, and address the root causes of crime.

β€œWe are appealing to our personnel to support us. Ipagpatuloy natin ang mga programa ng ating kapulisan para sa ikakabuti ng mga komunidad,” he added./PN
