BORACAY – The local government unit of Malay, Aklan assured tourists and residents that Boracay Island is a safe destination.

It said there was no “mini outbreak” of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases in the popular island as claimed by TikToker @adycots.

A young man and his girlfriend took to social media to share what they heard as “mini outbreak” in Boracay.

“We are on our way to Boracay. As you can see our bags are with us, our flights is in 30 minutes. Pero bakit kami nasa labas (ng terminal)? Last minute, we pulled out from our flight, kasi apparently may mini outbreak daw ngayon ng COVID sa Boracay. Halos mga friends who are there right now and those who went back last week lahat nag-positive sa COVID,” the social media content creator claimed in his TikTok video.
