BACOLOD City – Mambukal Mountain Resort in Murcia town is holding the 21st Mudpack Festival from June 16 to 18.
Resort manager Ellen Jalandoni said the annual event is organized by the Negros Occidental provincial government.
The opening of the event yesterday, according to Jalandoni, was “sort of a pre-mudpack celebration” wherein they partnered with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA).
The NCCA performed a cultural show.
The festival seeks to urge the public to care for the environment, Jalandoni explained.
Participants of the festival are painted and coated with colorful clay or mud which is abundant in the resort.
The Mudpack Festival is a venue for various artists in the province to showcase their artistic talents in ethnic dances, crafts and music./PN
