BACOLOD City – Negros Occidental provincial administrator Atty. Rayfrando Diaz revealed yesterday morning the planned reopening of the capitol-owned Mambukal Resort in the town of Murcia by April of this year, during the summer vacation season.
The Mambukal Resort was reopened in December of 2021. However, it was forced to close down again after super typhoon “Odette”.
According to Diaz, they were able to restore power at the resort only this Wednesday, almost three months after “Odette.”
Diaz specifically requested the power to be restored to affected residents first before the resort.
With electricity now restored, Diaz said the repair of damaged power distribution emergency facilities can now take place.
Among the improvements being carried out is the installation of P2.5-million worth of street lights inside the resort premises so as to keep guests safe to roam around during the evening.
The boating lagoon has also been drained ifor workers to repair the resort’s dam.
