BACOLOD City – Negros Occidental provincial government-owned Mambukal Resort and Wildlife Sanctuary bared its proposed new rates ahead of its re-opening to the public after the Holy Week.
The increase in rates was discussed during the public hearing by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan’s Committee on Budget and Finance chaired by Provincial Board member Rommel Debulgado.
Mambukal facility Manager Cheryl Decena said there had been no increase in their rates (accommodation and recreational facilities) since 2003, while the last increase was in their entrance fee back in 2011 yet.
A copy of the proposed rates obtained by the local media showed the proposed new entrance to be P120 for adults and P60 for minors.
Previously, the entrance fee for adults was P50 while for minors, P20.
Small picnic huts would be for P500 from the previous P300, while big picnic huts would be P800 from the previous P600.
The Pagoda/Pavilion trellis rate, meanwhile, would be at P500 from P200.
Hotel rooms are proposed at P3,500 to P4,000 from P2,300 with extra persons in rooms at P350 from the previous P250.
Family cottages will be at P9,000 from P5,500.
LGU cottages, meanwhile, have retained their price at P1,500 to P2,500.
“We will wait for the approval of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan,” Decena said.
The proposed increase in the entrance fees will be inclusive of the use of the amenities of the facility.
Previously guests paid separately for use of the resort’s amenities.
“It will be convenient and a big savings for the visitors,” said Decena.
Since the resort is also now a wildlife sanctuary, the use of videoke and other noise-generating equipment will no longer be allowed, she added./PN
