ROXAS City – A missing person in Mambusao, Capiz was found dead floating in a river in Barangay Poblacion, Tabuc Suba, Sigma town at around 1 p.m. on Tuesday, police said.
The body of Edwin Lotilla, 32, a resident of Mambusao, was already in a state of decomposition when it was fished out of the river, according to Sigma chief of police Senior Inspector Christian Mahometano.
Mahometano said he immediately informed the chief of police of Mambusao after receiving information about a missing person from that town on Nov. 17.
According to a witness, Benjie Lerona, Lotilla was last seen on Nov. 16 in a drinking binge near a slaughterhouse in Barangay Poblacion Tabuc, Mambusao together with Jan Mark Digan, Danilo Calmerin and someone identified only as “Toti.”
Lotilla’s family went to the Mambusao police station to report his disappearance on Nov. 17, police said.
According to information gathered by the police, Lotilla was accompanied by Digan on his way home but the former failed to arrive at his residence.
“Nangayo na kami assistance sa SOCO (Scene of the Crime Operatives) to conduct an autopsy to determine what caused Lotilla’s death,” Mahometano told Panay News.
Lotilla’s body was brought to the Laguda Funeral Homes in Mambusao./PN
