BACOLOD City – A resident of La Castellana, Negros Occidental who faces a frustrated murder charge was arrested in Purok Democrasya, Barangay Fabrica, Sagay City, Negros Occidental.
The 29-year-old Michael Lunes of Barangay Sag-ang, La Castellana had been hiding from cops for more than six years.
He was nabbed on the strength of an arrest warrant around 4:30 p.m. on Monday, a police report showed.
Judge Anita Guanzon-Chua of the Regional Trial Court Branch 63 in La Carlota City, Negros Occidental issued the warrant on Nov. 8, 2012.
Joint personnel from the Provincial Intelligence Unit, Sagay City police station and La Carlota City police station staged Lunes’ apprehension.
The suspect was detained in the lockup facility of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office.
He will later be transferred to the La Castellana police station or the provincial jail in Bago City, Negros Occidental.
The court recommended a P200,000 bail bond for Lunes’ temporary liberty./PN
