BACOLOD City – Charged with 61 counts of rape, a man was arrested in Barangay 9, Victorias City, Negros Occidental.
The 62-year-old Roel Sabajas was the No. 1 most wanted person in the police station of Cabatuan, Iloilo, a police report showed.
Sabajas – resident of Barangay Talanghauan, Cabatuan – was caught on the strength of an arrest warrant around 9 p.m. on July 23, it added.
Police officers of Cabatuan and Sagay City, Negros Occidental served the warrant issued by retired Judge Erlinda Sendino Tersol of the Municipal Circuit Trial Court in Cabatuan dated Oct. 17, 2001.
The suspect was detained in the lockup cell of the Sagay City police station.
The court recommended no bail bond for his temporary liberty./PN
