ILOILO – A man beaten by his older brother with a metal rod in Sitio Bangon-Bangon, Barangay Vista Alegre, Barotac Viejo town was declared “dead on arrival” in a hospital.
Renante Causing was 42 years old while his elder brother Rene was 43. They were not on good terms.
Barotac Viejo police station’s investigation revealed that the victim went to his older brother’s nipa hut.
The suspect opened the door and immediately hit his younger brother with a metal rod around 11:50 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 4, police said.
Renante sustained injuries on his neck, mouth and chest.
“Indi ya na ko kuno pagpalab-uton sa aga. Gin guba ya to pwertahan ko. Amo to ginlampusan ko siya eh kag gin-follow up sa ulo kag dughan,” said Rene.
He further said he wasn’t remorseful.
On Sept. 8, 2022 Renante stabbed Rene because the latter burned his laundry. None of their family members watched over Rene while he was in the hospital, police said.
The suspect voluntarily surrendered to the Barotac Viejo police station. Police said a homicide complaint will be filed today against the suspect./PN
