ILOILO City – A man was found dead along the Circumferential Road (C1) in Barangay San Jose, Arevalo district on Thursday evening, a police report showed.
The man was identified as the 32-year-old Jomar Jaleco of Barangay Desamparados, Jaro district.
Residents discovered Jaleco’s body around 10 p.m. on Jan. 31. He was lying face down wearing a white shirt and maong pants with three stab wounds on head and five stab wounds on the body, police said.
Jaleco’s hands were also tied on his back.
Arevalo police chief Senior Inspector Benjie Ballejera said the body was now at the Tolentino Funeral Parlor in the district.
Jaleco’s mother Merlinda confirmed his identity to the police.
The suspect in Jaleco’s death was still unidentified as of this writing.
Investigators are looking into drugs and grudge as motive in the death.
Jaleco allegedly had relationships with multiple women.
According to Regional Drug Enforcement Unit chief Senior Inspector Marc Valles Dado, Jaleco is also listed in their drug watch list.
“Si alias batman daw to si Jaleco – drug personality way, way back 2016 under the group of (Richard) Prevendido,” said Dado.
City Drug Enforcement Unit chief and city police deputy director for operations Superintendent Rogen Morales confirmed that Jaleco was a member of the Prevendido drug group./PN
