AKLAN — The body of a 30-year-old man was discovered in a river in Barangay Dongon West, Numancia, Aklan, around 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 27.
Local authorities identified the deceased as Normie Tolentino, a resident of Sitio Katibyugan in the same locality.
Preliminary investigations by the Numancia police revealed that Tolentino had been drinking with friends on the evening of April 26 at the residence of Rodel Campus. The group later moved to another friend’s house, Jimmy Reymon, to continue their session.
Tolentino left the gathering around 3 p.m. and did not return.
His body was found with vines wrapped around his neck, suggesting foul play.
