ILOILO – A 30-year-old resident of Sitio Soud, Barangay Talokgangan, Banate, was found dead on Sunday morning, Nov. 12.
Initial findings from the police investigation indicate that Mark Edillon had suffered a fatal stab wound to his abdomen.
According to Lieutenant Dandy Ilalto, the chief of Banate Municipal Police Station, Edillon had been participating in a series of drinking sessions the night before his tragic death.
Kagawad Jonson Beso, during an interview with Radyo Bandera Iloilo, said Edillon had not been invited to the event taking place at his residence. He expressed surprise at Edillon’s unexpected presence in their house.
Beso speculated that Edillon may have accidentally stumbled upon the gathering and recognized some of the attendees. He also clarified that he had no knowledge of any altercations involving the victim in their home.
Meanwhile, Estila, the victim’s mother, said her son had no known enemies. She added that he had intended to spend the night at a friend’s house to work on some tasks.
The police are still in the process of determining the motive behind the crime and identifying potential suspects./PN
