GUIMARAS – A 51-year-old man was discovered lifeless by the roadside in Sitio Kapawa, Barangay Pinya, Buenavista town here at around 7 a.m. yesterday, December 1.
Arnold Loja Gagatam’s body was found by a passing tricycle driver who immediately reported the incident to the police, according to Captain Rene Mercado, officer-in-charge of the Buenavista Municipal Police Station.
Mercado said the victim, a resident of the town’s Barangay Agsanayan, was curled up at the time of discovery.
Further reports said Gagatam was last seen the previous night drinking with his cousins in Barangay Pinya.
While no external injuries were found on Gagatam’s body, his family disclosed that he was on maintenance medication for hypertension.
Authorities have ordered an autopsy to determine if foul play was involved in his death.
As of this writing, Buenavista police were continuing their investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding Gagatam’s death./PN
