ILOILO – A man believed to be a victim of summary execution was found dead in Barangay Linobayan, Tigbauan town around 7 a.m. yesterday.
The victim was 58-year-old Allen Sanchez of Zone 5, Barangay Santo Niño Norte, Arevalo, Iloilo City, based on the identification cards recovered from his bag. His hands were bound by tape.
According to Police Captain Mary Jane Panes, chief of the Tigbauan Municipal Police Station,
Sanchez was also positively identified by his boardinghouse landlady and landlord in Barangay Santo Niño Norte.
Scene of the Crime Operatives recovered three sachets of suspected shabu and one sachet of marijuana from the victim’s wallet.
Panes, however, said investigation was still ongoing on the victim’s possible involvement in illegal drug activities.
The victim was discovered by fish vendor Ron-Ron Centino, a resident of the barangay, who happened to drop by the said area.
“Timing na-flat-tan ang motor ko, mabu-ol ko daad ka gamit ko. Gapanaw ako diya nasiplatan ko lang nga daw may tawo. Pagkita ko ang plastada niya nagahapa kag may mga tape ang lima na. Amo to waay ko gintandog kag nagtawag ko kay kagawad,” Centino told Panay News yesterday.
In an interview with Barangay Captain Rene Taño of Linobayan, he said he was certain the victim was not a resident of their barangay.
“Indi namon kilala gid mismo ang napatay kag mostly ang mga tawo di nakakadto man kaina kag haros ako mismo, ang mga gapalibot diri haros kilala ko ang mg tawo. So naga-conclude ako nga ang nasapwan nga dya is pangayaw gid,” said Taño./PN
