ILOILO City – A man was found bloody and lifeless inside his boarding house in Zone 6, Cacao Street, Barangay Bakhaw, Mandurriao district around 5:20 a.m. yesterday.
The victim was Ricky Pisaro Basques, 32, a resident of Brgy. Gines, Cabatuan, Iloilo while the suspect was Raffy Clemente, 26, and a resident of Barangay Damires, Janiuay, Iloilo.
According to Police Major Rey Sumagaysay, chief of the Mandurriao police station, residents heard a scream asking for help.
“Mga 5:20 kaina sang aga may nabatian ang mga tao diri nga naga singgitan kag nagapangayo bulig,” Sumagaysay said.
Authorities found the victim’s lifeless body under a folding bed inside his room while the weapon allegedly used in the crime was also found on the folding bed.
“Pag-abot sang aton imbestigador nakita na lang ni nga nagakaya ang biktima sa idalom sang iya folding bed, kakas gid ang duha niya ka abaga kag liog. Ang butcher knife nga gingamit ara man didto sa may ibabaw sang folding bed,” the police chief added.
The victim suffered fatal injuries to his head and neck and his shoulders were cut.
The suspect is said to have had a nervous breakdown and is now in the custody of the Mandurriao police station./PN
