ILOILO City – Why was a 31-year-old man from Balasan, Iloilo hacked to death? Police have yet to find out.
Ronald Bacorayo of Barangay Batuan, Balasan was attacked at around 12:05 a.m. on April 11, a police report showed.
Police identified a suspect: Archie Macario, 29, of the same barangay.
Responding officers brought Bacorayo to the Jesus M. Colmenares Memorial District Hospital, also in Balasan.
The attending physician, Dr. Susan Pallon, pronounced him “dead on arrival” at around 1 a.m., the police report stated.
Macario fled after the incident. He brought with him the bolo he allegedly used in the hacking, police said, citing witnesses.
The Balasan police station launched a hot pursuit against the suspect.
Bacorayo’s remains were still at the district hospital as of this writing./PN
