BACOLOD City – His younger brother hacked him after he hurt their mother in the hinterland Barangay Andres Bonifacio, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental, police said.
The 46-year-old resident Claro Billos was drunk when he went berserk on his mother Mercedita around 8 p.m. on Sunday, New Year’s Eve, the police added.
Billos’ brother – the 34-year-old Arlon – pacified him and made him go home.
A few minutes later, Billos went back with a hoe he used to hack the house’s door.
Arlon once again calmed Billos down. The latter then went back to his house.
But Billos came back, for the third time, wielding a sickle, or espading, he used to hack Arlon.
Arlon retaliated using a hoe.
Billos sustained hack wounds on the different parts of the body and died, police said.
It was not immediately clear if Arlon was arrested./PN
