AKLAN – A 53-year-old man sustained severe injuries from a hacking incident on Thursday, April 11, in Barangay Janlod, Libacao, Aklan.
The victim was identified as Leonil Nacino, while the suspect was 34-year-old Niel Nemis, a resident of the barangay.
The incident reportedly erupted when the suspect approached the victim, who was standing in the barangay’s covered court, and attacked with no apparent reason.
Nemis managed to flee the scene but was apprehended by authorities and subsequently turned over to the Libacao Municipal Police Station for proper disposition.
The suspect may face charges of frustrated homicide in connection with the incident.
Initial police investigations showed that there was prior animosity between the two parties./PN
