BACOLOD City – In Barangay Alangilan here, a man was arrested for alleged indiscriminate firing.

Martin Parreno, 36, a resident of the barangay, is now under the custody of Police Station 5 after the Oplan Katok campaign on Tuesday.

The suspect allegedly fired his homemade shotgun called “sulpak” that brought fear, alarm and danger to the residents of the barangay, investigation said.

Aside from the firearm, the police also recovered one belt bag containing 15 live ammunitions.  

Parreno may face a charge for violation of the Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition./PN
