BACOLOD City – In Barangay Lag-it, Tayasan, Negros Oriental, a man massacred his family then committed suicide.
The 40-year-old Walbert Amijoy used a butcher’s knife locally known as pinuti to stab the following:
* mother Felisa, 60
* live-in partner Eubisita Guillepa, 48
* brother Dicoy, 20
* niece Marilou Golez, 14, and
* Rhea May Dagohoy Guillepa.
The killings were carried out around 1 a.m. on Friday, said Senior Superintendent Henry Viñas, Negros Oriental police director.
The suspect allegedly suffered a nervous breakdown after his stepfather died. He was not able to eat and sleep for days.
Amijoy believed somebody was out to kill him, said Viñas./PN
