ILOILO – Police collared a 39-year-old man for illegal possession of firearm and ammunition in Barangay Durong-an, Tigbauan, Iloilo.
The suspect was identified as alias “Jun”, a resident of the said town.
The operation was carried out by the Tigbauan Municipal Police Station, 1st Iloilo Provincial Mobile Force Company and the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 6 around 6:20 a.m. on December 8 through a search warrant for violation of Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act).
Recovered from the suspect were a caliber .38 revolver with four live cartridges.
“I extend my sincere appreciation to the operating units that led to the arrest of the suspect. It is our goal to account for the remaining loose firearms in the region. For those who want to surrender or deposit their loose and unrenewed firearms, they can visit the nearest police unit for that purpose” said Brigadier General Jack L. Wanky, director of the Police Regional Office 6.
