ILOILO City – A man was arrested for serious illegal detention and trespassing in Mission Extension, Jaro district.
Personnel of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) nabbed the 47-year-old resident Martin Philip Romualdo on the strength of an arrest warrant around 7 a.m. on Tuesday.
Romualdo was detained in the custodial facility of the CIDG – Provincial Field Unit. No bail bond was recommended for his temporary liberty.
His apprehension came after Judge Gloria Go of the Regional Trial Court Branch 29 issued the warrant of arrest this week.
“The case has been filed two years ago but his arrest warrant was only issued this week,” said Chief Master Sergeant Job Lujan of the CIDG.
Romualdo has been complained for allegedly detaining their neighbor’s housemaid and carpenter who had rented a room in his uncle’s boardinghouse.
According to Lujan, a misunderstanding prompted Romualdo to lock the housemaid and the carpenter inside the boardinghouse.
Romualdo peacefully came with the arresting officers upon the serving of the warrant./PN
