Man nabbed for ‘stealing’ cable wires

BACOLOD City – Police arrested a 29-year-old man for allegedly stealing telephone cable wires in Hacienda Enclaro, Sitio Quartel, Barangay Sto. Rosario, Binalbagan, Negros Occidental on Thursday morning, Oct. 13.

Binalbagan police identified the suspect as Ilkie Garcie, a resident of Barangay Mansilingan, Bacolod City.

Garcie’s three other unidentified companions managed to evade arrest and were still at large as of this writing.

According to the Binalbagan police, Robert Jocson Meri Jr., lineman supervisor/technician of RC Yulo Telephone System Incorporated, reported to the police station that their telephone cable wires were stolen at around 10:40 a.m.

Cops apprehended Garcie around 2 p.m. in Barangay Sto. Rosario.

The also recovered 510 meters of telephone cable wires worth P688,100.

The suspect was detained at the Binalbagan police station./PN
