ROXAS City – Sixteen sachets of suspected shabu valued around P30,000 were seized in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Inzo Arnaldo, according to Lieutenant Mark Anthony Garcia of the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit here.
The 38-year-old resident Patricio Pelaez yielded the suspected illegal drugs, police said.
Police officers staged the entrapment operation which led to the arrest of Pelaez.
Aside from suspected shabu, P19,500 cash, P500 marked money and drug paraphernalia were also recovered from him, the police added.
“Madugay na naton siya gin-paidalum sa surveillance antes gin-conduct ang operation,” Garcia told Panay News.
“Ang estimated street market value sang drugs nga na-recover sa suspect is P30,000,” Garcia said.
According to the police, Pelaez was arrested for drug charges in the past but was released after a plea bargaining agreement.
The suspect was now detained in the lockup cell of the Roxas City police station, facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
