BACOLOD City – A 26-year-old man shot himself in the head in Murcia, Negros Occidental. In Manapla town, another man slashed his throat.
Family problems may have driven the Murcia man to shoot himself on Feb. 16, police said.
The police declined to identify the man upon the latter family’s request for privacy but said he shot him while on the front seat of his vehicle.
He was already dead when found.
In the Manapla incident, 28-year-old Donnie Gomez Mahilum used a labaha to slit his throat.
Family members rushed him to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital around 6 p.m. on Thursday.
According to his mother Wilfreda, Mahilum was recently mauled by relatives.
