BACOLOD City – A 57-year-old man was shot during a heated argument around 6:20 p.m. on Oct. 27 in Barangay Zone 2, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental.
The fatality was identified as Arnold Belocura while the suspect was Mark Besa, 40, a businessman. Both were residents of the aforementioned barangay.
Cadiz City police investigation revealed that Belocura was on his way home riding his mountain bike when he and the suspect, who was onboard a sport utility vehicle, had a heated argument over an undisclosed matter.
Besa allegedly shot Belocura using a .45 pistol.
The victim was hit on his right armpit. He was taken to the Cadiz City Emergency Clinic for medical treatment, but was later declared dead by the attending physician.
Police said the suspect, who fled after the incident, was apprehended in Manapla town around 9:20 p.m. on the same day.
Recovered from the suspect was a pistol. He was taken to the Cadiz City Police Station./PN
