ILOILO – A 32-year-old fish vendor was gunned down inside a KTV bar in Zone 4, Santa Barbara, Iloilo, around 2 a.m. yesterday.
The victim identified as alias “Ren”, was a native of Barangay Nagsulang, Dumarao, Capiz but currently residing in Barangay Lacadon, Santa Barbara. He succumbed to four gunshot wounds on his body, police said.
According to Police Captain Raphy Señeres of the Santa Barbara Municipal Police Station, an argument erupted between the victim’s group and the group of the suspect, alias “Ron”, 35, of Barangay San Juan, Molo, Iloilo City, over repeatedly turning the videoke off and on while singing.
Señeres said the suspect allegedly kicked the victim and shot him using a caliber .45 firearm.
The suspect fled after the incident. Santa Barbara police’s hot pursuit operation against him was ongoing as of this writing
Señeres, meanwhile, urged the public to avoid similar incidents by exercising self-control, especially when under the influence of alcohol, and suggested drinking at home if necessary./PN
