ILOILO City – He was trying to pacify a fight between two drunken men in Barangay Alcantara, Lemery, Iloilo when he was shot, a police report showed.
Nathan Diolata, a resident of the village, sustained a gunshot wound on the chest and was pronounced “dead on arrival” at a hospital.
It was a certain “Onyok” Labordo, also a resident of the village, who attacked Diolata using a 12-gauge shotgun around 8 p.m. on April 15, the report added.
According to police investigators, Diolata tried to pacify Labordo who had a heated argument during a drinking session with another person who was not named in the report.
Officers of the Lemery police station conducted a manhunt operation against the suspect, who fled after the incident./PN
