ILOILO – A man was shot twice on his back while inside his house in Barangay Bagongbong, Lambunao town yesterday morning.
The victim identified as alias “Rikrik” was recuperating at the hospital while the suspect, alias “Insik,” was detained at the Lambunao Municipal Police Station (MPS) following a successful hot pursuit operation.
Police Major Roy Tayona, chief of Lambunao MPS, said Rikrik had just returned from a wake and was drinking with two friends inside his house when the incident occurred at around 8 a.m.
The suspect, who was reportedly intoxicated, suddenly entered the house and shot the victim without provocation.
Tayona said the firearm used in the shooting was not recovered as the suspect allegedly discarded it while fleeing the scene./PN
