BACOLOD City – A man was shot to death in Barangay Poblacion 2, Sagay City, Negros Occidental.
The 55-year-old Cefirino Barredo sustained gunshot wounds on the body, a police report showed.
According to the police, Barredo was fixing the motorcycle of his costumer along the national road when a black motorcycle stopped near him.
The back rider peppered Barredo with bullets around 4:20 p.m. on July 2., the report added.
He was brought to the Lopez District Farmer’s Hospital in Sagay City where the attending physician declared him “dead on arrival.”
Police said Barredo was previously nabbed in a buy-bust operation.
But his drug case was dismissed by the Regional Trial Court Branch 60 in Cadiz City, Negros Occidental due to technicalities.
Officers of the Sagay City police station have yet to identify the suspects and the motive in the shooting./PN
